  1.        DEMO of Control Engineering program SYSAN.EXE

  3. SYSAN - SYStems ANalysis for linear control systems is a mainly
  4. educational program for electrical, mechanical and chemical engineering
  5. students that take a control engineering course.
  6.  
  7. The program strictly follows the manner of which calculations are
  8. presented in the various textbooks. When a response in the time domain
  9. is calculated, you will be confronted with this response in the form of
  10. the Laplace transformation, a formula, a table and a graph. You will
  11. recognise all the hand calculations you would have to make if you had
  12. tackled the problem by hand. With the aid of SYSAN however you get the
  13. results without undue effort, so that you can concentrate on the control
  14. problem.

  16. SYSAN is so user friendly that you may start without even having seen a
  17. manual. Just type SYSAN and start. If you are lost somewhere, press F1,
  18. and help will put you on the right track again.

  20. What you must know however is Control Engineering. If you know what a
  21. Bode plot means, Sysan will draw it for you.
  22.  
  23. Sysan covers analysis and design of analog and digital control systems
  24. up to the 8th order (restricted to what could be shown on one screen).
  25. You will work with transfer functions and state-space presentations.
  26. You will work in the time domain, in the frequency domain, with root
  27. loci, with pole placement and with full and reduced observers.
  28. Everything is available in both analog and digital form.

  30. SYSAN runs on almost any IBM like PC. From the old 8088 with a Hercules
  31. or CGA screen (but this will take you some time) to the newest Pentium.

  33. SYSAN is capable to 'speak' various languages: at the moment it does
  34. English, German and Dutch. If somebody is interested in another language
  35. and he is a native speaker and knows control engineering terminology, we
  36. can very easily make another language version. It only requires a text
  37. file of some 200 lines and 12 helpfiles of 2 pages each.

  39. This Demo version is shareware and may be distributed freely on the
  40. condition that the distribution is complete (with all the supporting
  41. files) and no changes are made to any of the files belonging to this
  42. program.

  44. The Demo version is restricted to 4th order systems and English
  45. language. Only frequency domain and time domain are available. I hope
  46. that this will give you a good impression of what SYSAN can do for you.
